Metalwork Section
The metal work section of Bowral Community Men's Shed has a fully equipped workshop capable of taking on projects large and small, on the community and members needs. These projects include art works for The Bowral Art Society, an artistic sign bearer for The Bowral Uniting Church, repairs to cycles passed on from the Bowral Police stolen property property store and the making of billy carts to name a few. Men from all walks of life come together in the spirit of friendship and mateship and are under no pressure or strict time limits.
Occupational health and safety is paramount and the work is under the supervision of experienced tradesmen who are selfless in passing their knowledge on to others. Individual accounts can verify that this environment is a lifesaver in raising the health and self esteem in older men. Quality of life is the most important thing on earth and belonging to the Men's Shed movement can achieve that goal.
Bowral Men's Shed is still actively building and selling traps for the community. To date they have built over 90 traps that are so popular they are being used both within and outside the Wingecaribbee Shire, see photo on the left.
The cost of the traps is $50 which helps the group cover contacting costs if anyone would like to purchase a trap from Bowral Community Men's Shed, please contact David Weatherall on 4862 5285.
